I’m Christian Kennedy, an architect (ARB, Prof Dip, BArch) and the principal of Christian Kennedy Architects.
Over eight years in practice I have worked at Foster + Partners, Thirdway Interiors and Marek Wojciechowski Architects, across housing, wellness and commercial work, from workplaces and luxury retail to large mixed-use developments.
A design practice for wellness, commercial and residential projects, taken from first sketch to site.
I work as a comprehensive designer, thinking across every discipline and anticipating what a project will need before it is asked, whatever form it takes. The aim is always to do more with less.
Based in Gravesend, Kent, working across London and the South East. Past projects reach from Manchester and Hampshire to Los Angeles, New York and the Middle East.
By leading the design myself, from concept through to construction, and keeping its intent intact on site. By coordinating consultants and contractors closely, testing form and material early, and using computation and AI to take on the repetitive work, so the time goes into the design.
Christian Kennedy Architects is an architectural practice based in Gravesend, Kent, founded in 2026 by Christian Kennedy, with a strong body of work on places to live and work throughout the UK.
Our work is not tied to a single architectural language. Whether a project calls for a new building, a careful fit-out or a response to a sensitive historic setting, each one starts from an understanding of place, proportion, material and light. We believe good architecture should feel considered and enduring: clear in its design and restrained in its execution.
Design ambition is matched by an understanding of how buildings are made, what they cost and how they perform over time. Sustainability is treated the same way: as part of the architecture, shaping decisions on orientation, fabric, materials, energy and longevity, not added as a separate layer.
Christian’s eight years in practice span Foster + Partners, Thirdway Interiors and Marek Wojciechowski Architects. The work has ranged from London housing and a private health and wellbeing centre to international retail, a training ground for a Premier League club and office fit-outs across London. Across each, he brings together design, technical knowledge and practical judgement, carrying design intent from concept through to construction, to make architecture that responds to its context, serves the people who use it and is built to last.
We focus on quality materials, intelligent use of space, and bringing in nature and light. Each design is made for its client, not to a house style, whether the space will be occupied by the client, let to a tenant or developed speculatively.
Every part of a design is connected, so we work at every scale at once, from the site and its context down to furniture and fittings.
A building is judged up close: where materials meet, how a door closes, how a handrail feels. We give those moments the same care as the whole.
Bespoke joinery and fittings are drawn in-house and developed with makers and contractors, tested in samples and models before they are built. Clients choose furniture, materials and finishes with us, in meetings or showrooms, and we can procure items where needed.
We work as master builders, with modern tools that let us hold the whole project, from the first drawing to the last fitting. AI takes on the repetitive work, so our time goes into the design and the people around it.
Clients deal with Christian directly, from start to finish. We speak to consultants, contractors and suppliers ourselves, recommend the right team and stay involved until the project is built.
